The western Pacific is facing an intense period of tropical cyclone activity, with three storms developing at the same time — Tropical Storm Narra near the Gulf of Tonkin, Tropical Storm Canary, and Typhoon Saudel.
The simultaneous development is linked to favorable atmospheric and oceanic conditions, including warm sea-surface temperatures across the western Pacific, which can provide energy for tropical disturbances to strengthen.
However, Thailand is not currently in the direct path of these three systems.
Narra is moving toward southern Guangxi, China, while Canary is approaching Taiwan. Typhoon Saudel remains over the Pacific.
Even though the storms are not expected to make a direct landfall in Thailand, their circulation can influence the regional monsoon pattern. Combined with the monsoon trough and the southwest monsoon, this could bring heavy rainfall to parts of northern Thailand, the upper Northeast, the Central region and the East.
⚠️ Residents in flood-prone areas, lowlands, foothills and communities near waterways should continue monitoring official weather updates and accumulated rainfall.
