STECON Group Public Company Limited (STECON), one of Thailand’s major construction players, is stepping up its expansion into the Data Center sector, preparing to bid for three additional private-sector projects worth a combined THB 49.8 billion within 2026.
STECON currently has four Data Center projects in hand, worth approximately THB 13.2 billion. As of the second quarter of 2026, the company’s total construction backlog stood at approximately THB 116.44 billion, while it is preparing to bid for new projects across various business segments worth more than THB 85 billion.
If STECON successfully wins all three Data Center projects, the new contracts would be equivalent to roughly 43% of its current backlog, potentially pushing total backlog toward THB 166 billion, before accounting for revenue recognition from existing projects.
During the first half of 2026, STECON reported net profit of approximately THB 1.262 billion, an increase of around 48% year-on-year, supported primarily by its construction and infrastructure businesses.
The Data Center push comes as the Thai government accelerates efforts to position the country as a regional digital and Data Center hub. The Board of Investment (BOI) has approved investment promotion for several major Data Center projects worth tens of billions of baht, creating significant opportunities for construction companies and infrastructure providers.
STECON and its subsidiary, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited (STEC), together with business partners, are positioned to benefit from this accelerating investment trend.
⚠️ However, the three projects worth THB 49.8 billion have NOT yet been awarded to STECON. The projects remain in the private-sector bidding process, and the final results will depend on the selection of contractors.
