September 28 marks Thai National Flag Day, commemorating the official adoption of Thailand’s tricolour national flag in 1917, during the reign of King Rama VI.
The red, white and blue flag has remained Thailand’s national flag for more than a century.
The Thai government designated September 28 as Thai National Flag Day in 2016, with the first observance held in 2017.
