BANGKOK — Thailand’s new deportation regulation took effect on August 28, 2026, establishing procedures for removing foreign nationals who violate Thai law or whose conduct falls within grounds related to public order under applicable law.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed the regulation on August 26. It was published in the Royal Gazette the following day and became effective on August 28.

The measure is significant for international residents and visitors because it clarifies the administrative framework for deportation. It should not, however, be interpreted as an automatic removal order for foreigners generally; individual cases remain subject to the relevant legal process.
